The Four Evangelists on the Absence and Presence of Jesus

29 October – 1 November

About the lectures

The New Testament gospels attest the definitive narrative of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. As they render his story for their own time, where for the evangelists is Jesus now? Prof. Bockmuehl’s four Didsbury lectures will examine this question in relation to each of the gospels, probing their surprisingly different locations on the spectrum between the absence and the presence of Jesus.
