Alumni Ordinations

Over the course of the weekend 11th – 14th March, NTC were delighted to celebrate the ordination of nine of our alumni at the Church of the Nazarene District Assemblies.

Joining Revd Carl McCann and Revd Ruth Turner, District Superintendents for the Church of the Nazarene British Isles South District (BISD) and North District (BIND) respectively, were Revd Jim Ritchie, Regional Director for the Church of the Nazarene Eurasia Region and Dr David Busic, one of six General Superintendents for the global Church of the Nazarene.

Our newly ordained alumni were:

  • Revd Tim Bowen-Evans, Greystones Nazarene Community Church
  • Revd Rob Fitzjohn, Cramlington Church of the Nazarene
  • Revd Tori MacKinnon, Erskine Church of the Nazarene
  • Revd Kirsty Burke, Didsbury Community Church and NTC Admissions
  • Revd Tom Burke, Didsbury Community Church
  • Revd Dr Mi Ja Wi, Manchester Yedam Korean Church and NTC Faculty
  • Revd Naomi Gull, Taunton Church of the Nazarene
  • Revd Joseph Prescott, Sheffield Church of the Nazarene
  • Revd Jez Smith, Brownlow Fold Church of the Nazarene

All nine ordinands followed individual pathways of education at NTC. Their learning incorporated theological, biblical, practical and pastoral elements, while serving in various ministries as District licensees under mentorship of existing Nazarene elders.

Annual Nazarene District Assemblies

The annual Nazarene District Assemblies took place in person for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing people from across the Nazarene denomination in the UK to join together for worship, fellowship and district business.

The BISD Assembly was held over 2 days at St Johns, Dukinfield, Manchester, while the BIND Assembly gathered across the full weekend at Megain Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Belfast.

Following completion of annual district business, the final worship service is traditionally where individuals meeting the requirements for ordination, having been approved by the Board of Ministry and General Superintendent, are officially ordained.

It was an absolute delight to be part of such a momentous occasion and NTC continues to celebrate all its alumni, whether entering into ordained ministry or other areas of service across the globe.
