Finance Assistant – Part Time (28 hours per week)

You are invited to apply to join a dynamic team, with a focus on developing people. You’ll be part of a collaborative, committed group of colleagues: your brief as Finance Assistant will be to assist the Finance Manager in the processing of all transactions and preparation of financial reports, and be the primary point of contact for students.

The person fulfilling this role will be enthusiastic, personable, detail orientated, efficient with time management and able to work closely with a small team. They will share the College’s passion for serving people, offering hospitable and caring approaches to dealing with money. The person will be a good balance of self-motivated, creative and responsive to the changing needs of their environment. They will care for the well-being of students as they navigate their learning journey. This person will support and engage with the ethos of the College.

Working under the oversight of the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant is responsible for processing all transactions. This includes raising invoices for fees, accommodation rental, ancillary items, and receiving payment from students. The role reconciles receipts from various departments and donations, prepares and makes bank transfers and deposits and manages UK and USA Student Loan processes.

The appointed candidate will have experience in using the Sage 50Cloud Accounts Professional financial system. They will be ready to work with a closely-knit team within the College.

Nazarene Theological College is a partner college of The University of Manchester. Situated in Didsbury, Manchester, the College is an institution of the Church of the Nazarene.  Founded in 1944, NTC has some 330 students (both full and part time), across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study, representing some thirty-five different nationalities.
