Exploring God-given Creativity
Between 11th – 13th February 2022, nearly one hundred women, including NTC staff, students and alumni gathered together in Northampton to share fellowship in person for the first time in 2 years as part of the Nazarene British Isles South District Ladies Retreat.
This year, the theme was ‘Created to Create’, celebrating God’s creativity, reflected in and through His creation and through women who are created in His image and love. For the first time, the event became interdenominational and one attendee described it as the best ladies conference she had attended.
The weekend included several workshops aimed at exploring how women might express their creativity. Through carefully chosen activities, attendees had the opportunity to develop their individual gifts, including through spoken word, story telling and photography. The weekend also incorporated a session around women’s health, including both physical and mental wellbeing.
NTC was well-represented at the event through the participation of Revd Louise Kenyon, NTC faculty and Director of Manchester Bible School, who led elements of Worship and the Photography workshops. Kirsty Burke from our Admissions team led elements of Worship as co-pastor of the Didsbury Community Church. Several alumni and current students of the College were also present.

Our partners from Seedbeds School for Urban Leadership (SUL) also joined the weekend, with Helen Lawson preaching on Friday evening. Helen and her family recently moved from Sheffield to Birmingham to run Seedbeds’ The Greenhouse at Barnes Close Retreat and Education Centre in Birmingham. The weekend was a great collaborative opportunity for NTC and SUL to showcase what we have on offer.
NTC embraces, encourages and supports women in ministry. Options such as our MA Theology (Practical and Pastoral Theology can support you as you take your next steps.
You can also take a look at what’s on at NTC in Manchester and through our partnership with Seedbeds School for Urban Leadership in Birmingham in the coming months.
