Admissions coordinator and academic administrator
Cath was born in Ashton-under-Lyne and moved to Withington at the age of 10 and went to school in Didsbury. She studied Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham University where she met her husband Steve and they settled back in Didsbury together after graduating. Cath worked as an engineer at GEC Alsthom in Trafford Park before moving into IT and database analysis and then moving to UMIST. She had a career break when she had her daughter Louise and undertook part time work as a teaching assistant and gardener. She worked as the Administrator for Northern Baptist College for a number of years before being the Administrator for The Samaritans and then coming to NTC. Cath and Steve attend Didsbury Baptist Church. Cath was previously church secretary, deacon and youth leader. Steve is currently a deacon and looks after the building maintenance etc. and oversaw the renovation project.
They both love walking particularly in the Lake District and Cath is a book addict who joins too many book clubs and hoards too many books! Once a very keen gardener, Cath now enjoys just sitting in the garden and letting it grow wild around her embracing the new ‘no mow May’ and wild spaces approach to gardening.
