The task of theology is to serve the Church in its myriad formations and to serve the world in its myriad formations.
I am a Canadian who has taught at NTC for the past 18 years. My education included degrees from Canadian Nazarene College (BSL, ThB), Vancouver School of Theology (MDiv, ThM), Nazarene Theological Seminary (DMin), and University of London, King’s College (PhD).
My most recent publications (2014) are a chapter in the edited book, As Long as Earth Endures (IVP). I contributed the essay, ‘Jürgen Moltmann: Creation and the Re-structuring of Trinitarian Panentheism, and, along with Joseph Cunningham we edited the book Pathway of Holiness in which I wrote, ‘The Future of Wesleyan Missional Theology: Reconciliation and the Eucharist’.
I supervise PhD work in Wesleyan theology, the Early Church Fathers, and 20th century theology. I also work with Dr. Dwight Swanson in helping lead the Word and Table service at Longsight Church of the Nazarene.
For the past 40 years I have been married to Alison and we are parents to Mark (wife, Tomoko Ichitani) and Melissa (husband, Orlando Grant and son Quinten).
