I’m particularly interested in how faith-based colleges engage with public higher education.

I’ve served in the role of Academic Dean at Nazarene Theological College for the past fifteen years, and have taught in such areas as Communications, Faith and Media, Leadership, and Theological Education.  I hold a BA and MA in English Literature, a PGCE, and an MEd and PhD in Educational Administration (Higher Education). My PhD dissertation examined issues of academic accreditation and validation, and their impact on mission and identity in the Christian College. I’m particularly interested in examining how faith-based colleges engage with public higher education, and support doctoral students wanting to work in related areas. I’m also involved in the work of ‘Quality Assurance,’ as a reviewer with the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency).

I have experience working within higher education in the UK and Canada – in both the public and Christian sectors. As well as faculty responsibilities, I have carried a range of administrative duties, starting with student services, then moving to academic administration.

I grew up in Manchester, and find myself again involved with the church I first attended as an infant, though that slice of urban Manchester has changed over those years.  I enjoy cycling (mostly urban, these days), am an omnivorous reader, and confess to being a long-time Manchester United fan.
