In September, NTC hosted the annual Ministry Assessment Centre (MAC) for the British Isles Nazarene Church. NTC Alumni and Nazarene Church Elders, Rev. Michelle Lynam and Rev. Claire Fender, jointly coordinated and facilitated MAC. We invited Michelle to share a little about what MAC aims to achieve and how it serves individuals and the Church.
Michelle explained, “MAC aims to determine the gifts, passion, capability and suitability of people involved or considering licensed ministry in the International Church of the Nazarene. Three intensive days are given to the assessment process, which includes various ways of interaction, observation, simulations and opportunities to meet with a counsellor and health care practitioner – at the end of which, an evaluation is shared and discussed with each candidate, which is aimed to be supportive, encouraging and directional. This year, we were delighted that five candidates were able to attend and share in the experience alongside a wonderfully diverse and gifted team of assessors from across the British Isles Nazarene Church. This included both Rev. Ruth Turner and Rev. Carl McCann, District Superintendents for both the North and South Districts.
“We are grateful to NTC for hosting MAC, as this is not only an excellent facility and welcoming campus, but is a good introduction for anyone who will continue their ministry journey through courses at NTC.”
NTC are delighted to share the news that Michelle has also recently taken on the role of Eurasia Region Communications Coordinator and want to wish her every success in her new position in serving the Church in this way.
