Information on transferring to an alternative course at Nazarene Theological College, transferring to another higher education provider, and transferring from another higher education provider.
A transfer is an approved change to your course of study and includes:
We would always suggest you discuss transfers with the Academic Office team, your Pastoral Care Group leader, or both, before requesting, as there may be alternative options that you are not aware of.
You may only transfer a course of study with the permission of Nazarene Theological College. If you have not yet enrolled in a course of study, you should contact the Admissions team to request a change. If you have already enrolled in a course of study, you can apply to transfer to a different course or change your mode of study by completing the Change of Study Status form available on MOODLE.
Approval for a course transfer will depend on whether you hold appropriate entry qualifications. If you have failed your current course and are required to withdraw, or have already chosen to withdraw from your course, or have completed an award (including an exit award such as the Certificate of Higher Education) then your request will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee for the relevant level of study.
The following conditions must be met for a course transfer to be considered:
You may be required to successfully complete your current year of study on your current course in order to start the next year on the new course, or to cease your current course and change to the new course at the beginning of the next semester or the next academic year. This may require an Interruption of Study.
Please discuss these changes with the Academic Office team before applying, so you can be fully aware of any implications regarding, e.g., Student Finance, possible required Interruptions of Study, and what credit can be applied to your new course.
If you wish to transfer to an alternative institution, you will need to contact them to make sure they will accept you, and their processes for applying and transferring credit.
If you complete your current year of study at Nazarene Theological College successfully, you may be eligible for an exit award such as the Certificate of Higher Education, or the Diploma of Higher Education. If you do decide to transfer to another higher education provider, you will need to inform the Academic Office team, and complete the Change of Study Status form available on MOODLE.
We accept transfer applications under the Principles and Guidance for the Application of the Accreditation of Prior Learning (AP(E)L) laid out by the University of Manchester, our validating institution. Accordingly, credit can be applied to a course of study at Nazarene Theological College for up to half of the required credits for that course, as long as the “level, standard, content and relevance of that learning is appropriate to a particular programme of study”.
Applicants interested in transferring to Nazarene Theological College should apply through the usual application routes, and contact the NTC Admissions team to discuss the possibility of credit transfer.
