I earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Studies from Edinburgh and completed a one year course at London School of Theology, majoring in overseas mission. I moved to Manchester to work for Covenanters (a Christian youth organisation), fulfilling a variety of administrative roles. My heart, however, was in Zambia, and I spent 8 happy years there. The first 3 years based in Kabwe, working for Kabwe Chapel doing youth work, training youth leaders, prison visitation, marking Bible courses for those who were in prison, and running a Christian bookshop. The last 5 years were teaching in a Boarding school in the wonderful Zambian bush, where I was also Head of Sixth Form and Houseparent for the Sixth Form girls. The first 2 years we had no electricity, so it was truly chalk and talk and trying to find imaginative ways to teach Economics and Business Studies without digital resources!
I started working for an awarding body as Corporate Services Manager and then joined NTC as Operations Director in September 2018, and was appointed Vice Principal (Operations) in 2025. All these different experiences have prepared me for this role and I marvel at how God leads and prepares us in ways we don’t always understand or see how they will come together in the future. Outside of NTC, a new venture into owning an allotment with friends is a great way to unwind and a healthier way to eat!
