Glowing Results: NTC tops national averages in student satisfaction

The National Student Survey saw NTC rated almost ten percent higher than the university sector as a whole across all 27 positivity measures, with an overall average of 92.4% against a sector average of just 83.4% The NSS is the annual rating that graduating students give their institution, teachers, course, and facilities, so it’s great to hear such a good report from our graduates.

In fact, student ratings of the teaching at NTC saw a perfect 100% satisfaction rating across all categories: how good teachers are at explaining things; how they make the subject engaging; how stimulating students find the teaching; and how teachers challenge them to achieve their best work.

The College also scored a perfect 100% when students responded about whether their opinions were valued by staff; 100% said they had good opportunities to give feedback on the course; 100% said that marking and assessment was fair and on time; 100% said that information on mental wellbeing support was excellent; and 100% said the course developed knowledge and skills they will need for the future.

The results also saw a year-on-year increase: overall satisfaction was up 3% (the national average saw a 1.5% increase year on year).

So – we’re basking in the warm glow of student satisfaction (then on to work to make sure that next year is even better!)
