As the summer months come into fruition, it’s a little quieter here at the college, but there’s still plenty of wonderful news to share. From an open session (including cake and coffee) to staff away days and new starters, July has brought exciting prospects for the college’s future. We’re delighted to share them with you below.
Coming up
Let’s chat counselling (with cake!)
If you’re interested in studying our BA in Theology (Counselling) or planning to join us in September, then we’d love to invite you to chat all things counselling with coffee and cake on Friday the 18th of July from 10-11 in the NTC Conservatory. Meet with course leader Cemil, and our registrar Kirsty, for a chat about our new pathway and the chance to ask any questions.
Celebrating our community

A day away exploring Dunham Massey
Earlier this month, NTC staff and faculty had the joy of spending a day at Dunham Massey. After a busy and rewarding year of teaching, research and care for students, it was beautiful to spend some time off-campus connecting with one another and having space to breathe, dream and reflect on the last year. Amongst walking, ice cream and exploring, we also enjoyed the sight of a beautiful heron in the river. A well deserved and refreshing day for everyone involved.

Our Inhabit cohort undertake a pilgrimage
Pilgrimages are meant to stretch you, not just through 12 miles of walking each day, but spiritually and relationally (you don’t always pick your travel companions!). This year’s Inhabit pilgrimage to Spain did exactly that. From its challenges bloomed a lovely adventure, creating lifelong memories and friendships while also giving students assurance and direction during this liminal season of their lives. Photos coming soon!

NTC achieves glowing results in National Student Survey (NSS)
The National Student Survey saw NTC rated almost ten percent higher than the university sector as a whole across all 27 positivity measures, with an overall average of 92.4% against a sector average of just 83.4%. The NSS is the annual rating that graduating students give their institution, teachers, course, and facilities, so it’s great to hear such a good report from our graduates

A new chaplaincy set up
Our wonderful Chaplain and colleague Mick has heard the call of God to go and pastor full time. We love him and bless him in going! With great joy, we announce Pastor James Hunter and Reverend Louise Kenyon as the central nervous system of our chaplaincy team. James will be working three days a week and Louise a day.

Our Theology (Counselling) programme director, Cemil Egeli, joins
Our new programme director for our Theology (Counselling) pathway, Cemil Egeli, has joined us this July. We’re so excited to experience all he brings to us as a leader, thinker and practitioner, and look forward to how to grow this sphere of the college. If you’re interested in our BA in Theology (Counselling) you can join us for coffee and cake next Friday to learn more (details above)
More time with Rachel Campbell!
Many of you will have met Rachel over the last year as a member of our learning enhancement team, and it’s a joy to announce that she will now be working between this team and the academic office, guiding students through the ins and the outs of their study at NTC.
We hope you all have a beautiful and restful summer.
